It’s just about time to transition from mainly hunting posts and news to tournament season posts and news – along those lines, I’ll be heading to the Archery Trade Association Trade show in January.

I may continue to post some deer hunting news/articles depending on what I find and if I head into the woods (feeding, off-season food plots, stand maintenance, etc.) or feral hog, turkey, etc. hunting, but until late next Summer, expect more archery competition news and articles (and nature articles) than anything else.

And humor, because, you know, McSquizzy is still down at camp. He even tormented some other hunters last weekend, since they used that blind two days. (They called it ‘that pup tent’ instead of a blind. Hey, they’re from Florida, what can you expect?)

I will be going to the ATA Trade Show as a staff shooter for Gable Sporting Goods as well as a member of Real Avid’s Field Staff.

First, the weather looks fantastic for tomorrow – Intellicast shows a high of 86′ tomorrow with partly cloudy skies.  Sunday looks like scattered thunderboomers.

Our FINAL SHOOT OF THE SEASON is tomorrow – bring $10, your bow and some arrows and have a ball!

From Gold Tip’s FaceBook wall:

Top score of the day and a great comeback to finish third went Jesse Broadwater with only three of his Ultralight Pro 400’s out of the ten ring all day. Three of the top five Pros were shooting Gold Tip shafts! Rookie Pro Henry Bass finished a strong fifth place in his first Classic Championship

Congratulations Team Gold Tip!!! What a great weekend on the tournament trail for Gold Tip shooters. Tim Gillingham(center) wins the Classic in the Men’s Pro Division and the NFAA Men’s Pro 3-D Championship with a score of 74 up on 60 targets. Also pictured is the previous days winner of the car shootoff, Paul Teford(right) and Chris Berry who won the Bowhunter Freestyle Division in both the Classic and the National 3-D Championship. Chris is a long time Gold Tip Staff Shooter and has many wins to his credit.

323 Archery Shoot (Us, of course!) July 7th – 10 minutes from Atlanta or Douglasville

We are located on Britt Road in Douglasville behind the Log Cabin Restaurant: for those using a GPS, 4093 Fairburn Rd. Douglasville Ga. 30135 would be the closest address. Turn next to the log cabin it is the first road on the left just look for the signs.  Bradley and I cut some new lanes and re-routed the shoot from last year’s side of the field, so look for the registration table on the LEFT as you drive in – we decided to use some of the riverbank for some downhill shots that’ll boggle your brains!

It’s time again for another ECAC tournament! This month’s tournament is our charity shoot for the year. All proceeds will go to benefit the TJ and Friends Cancer Foundation. This is a great local organization which has helped many people in their fight with cancer. You can’t beat being out doing what you love, and giving back to a good cause. There will be plenty of prizes, food, and cash drawings. Please come out and shoot with us this Saturday June 16th, and show everyone how generous the archery world can be! Not many people know we still shoot bows, this is a good way to get even more people involved! We look forward to seeing everyone out there! Shooting starts at 8 and sign ups go til 3:30!

I am trying to find more information out about the Soulhunter’s shoot – when I do, I’ll update this post.
